Of course, if the sky's the limit when it comes to your budget, feel free to go crazy with marble tiles, counter tops and tables. For those of us not wishing to go bankrupt, investing in marble accessories can make your home feel super chic and expensive in a surprisingly affordable way. John Lewis always has a great selection of marble kitchenware which is often reduced at the end of the season; I picked up this marble rolling pin in last Christmas' sale and the marble tablet stand a year later (just £7 reduced from £30). I also found the French Connection marble-based lamp in the sale. As for the M&S marble placemats, at £15 each they are really good value. Alternatively, you could just go for a marble-effect notebook, like this beautiful one from Studio of Basic Design.
Below I've selected a few of my favourite marble pieces around at the moment. Just don't do what I did and slip on a wet shop floor while carrying one of these. My first marble tablet stand was reduced to marble dust when I fell head over heels moments after buying it... I am eternally grateful to the staff at John Lewis for replacing it free of charge!
