I do love a bit of bouclé. Nothing quite says Chanel like a lovely piece of monochrome tweed. Its potential downfall, however, is that it has the tendency to seem a little too prim and polished, and looking like you've tried too hard is never a good idea. So how to toughen it up a bit? Well, frayed edges, like the ones on these divine Topshop shorts, are a good place to start. A tough ankle boot, a bit of leather and a few zips wouldn't go amiss either. I'd team these babies with ankle boots and a little biker jacket or simple knit for day, or dress them up with a blazer, white tee, perspex clutch and a smoky eye for night.
