Now that the weather has sorted itself out (something just isn't right when England is hotter than Miami), we can finally properly succumb to autumn. And for me that means one thing: cosy autumnal clothes. Knits, furs, scarves, boots and all things snuggly. It also means retiring bright beachy colours (so long neons) and settling down to a whole new cosy colour palette: navy, grey marl, pewter and especially burgundy. Wine-like shades are definitely having a moment this autumn. And whether you call it burgundy, maroon, oxblood, merlot or claret, draping yourself in this comforting autumnal colour will undoubtedly help wash away the end-of-summer blues. So below I've picked my favourite burgundy pieces from the high street for your perusal pleasure. Topshop is definitely leading the way here, with a huge selection of sumptuous bordeaux-coloured pieces, but there are plenty to choose from wherever you look. I'll be teaming my maroon with black leather, fluffy cream knitwear and a dash of snakeskin to see in my favourite season of all.
