I've always been a big fan of Phillip Lim's designs, and his Resort 2012 collection is no different. What I love about these clothes is that they are simple, classy and understated, while at the same time utterly, utterly chic. They epitomise that completely effortless New York brand of cool, managing to strike the perfect balance between dressed up and dressed down. Below I've selected some of my favourite of his Resort looks (see the whole collection here), and I would happily wear any of these outfits tomorrow. They are a breath of fresh air among some of the try-hard trends around this summer (clashing brights, 70s, busy prints) and show us that what we should actually be aiming for is clean, sleek and minimalist, with a hefty dose of urban cool.
