today i'm wearing...

Zara blue skinny jeans

Alexander Wang black Prisma tote

Topshop white knot front blouse

Zara black mules

Larsson & Jennings CM silver watch

Topshop navy satin bomber

Love this navy bomber jacket I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I've been toying with the idea of a khaki bomber for a while now but somehow they seem too severe; maybe it's the army connotations. Either way, this lightweight navy satin feels much more up my street.

today i bought… whistles everett bag

whistles everett bucket bag

I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted, but good customer service is the difference between a one-off buyer and a lifelong customer. Whistles certainly understand this, and that's why I'm the latter type of customer when it comes to them. Case in point: my lovely nude Onslow bucket bag (here if you're interested), which I bought in March last year, unfortunately developed a fault in the stitching of the handle. Even though this was more than a year ago, when I emailed Whistles they were hugely apologetic and offered either to pay for the repair or exchange it for a bag of the same value. After trying to get it repaired and being told it would be difficult, I decided to exchange it for this beautiful navy alternative. Lovely Harriet from Customer Services tracked one down for me, I posted out my bag - the charge for which they refunded - and they sent me back this beautiful new one. I can't tell you how impressed I am with them. Not only were they incredibly helpful and quick to respond, they gave me an amazing replacement for an old broken bag and they even honoured my original 25% discount. And no, I'm not being paid to say this. Just wanted to share this with you because a happy customer = a loyal customer, and a lot of other businesses could really learn from that. So thanks, Whistles, and here's to my lovely new Everett bag!

today i love… 5 of the best rose candles

Anyone who knows me will tell you I'm obsessed with rose in all its forms. From the flower itself (in white please, any potential suitors) to rosewater in drinks and desserts (incidentally I'm enjoying a raspberry and rose martini currently) through to anything bath, body or scent related. However, with the latter category, it has to be said that it's very easy to get it wrong. Nothing says fusty like a cheap rose fragrance (which is why it often gets a bad rep). Cheap rose soap or bubble bath = eugh. So that's why when it comes to rose candles - obviously my favourite way to enjoy this scent - you really need to invest in high quality. Above are my favourite deep and expensive smelling rose candles. My absolute favourite, Diptyque Rosamundi, was sadly limited edition, but the standard Diptyque Roses is a close second, while the & Other Stories beauty is my best budget pick - smells way above its price tag. Incidentally, the same goes for vanilla - don't go anywhere near cheap vanilla scents. Diptyque's Vanille is divine though...
