today i love… the monday wish list

My local H&M recently reopened complete with a brand new Home section and I'm kind of obsessed. It's pretty difficult for me not to buy absolutely everything. For the moment though I'll settle for this gorgeous tarnished lantern.

Looking for the perfect gift for your friend/sister/mother? Step forward this indulgent selection box of beauty classics, including a 1-minute facial, a deep cleansing mask and a facial spritz, priced at less than half its value.

It's that time of year when we can start entertaining thoughts of white dresses without having to worry too much about freezing our extremities. This is the perfect answer to any summer party dilemmas (or, in a dream world, the perfect dress in which to stroll along a Caribbean beach carrying your sandals in one hand and a mojito in the other… sigh).

Talking of holidays, bikini season is surely imminently upon us. I love this laser cut beauty in classic black: flashes just the right amount of skin.

These shoes are a true classic. Right now you can snap them up at 55% less than their original price. Thank the shopping gods for the Outnet.

Love rose gold + love simple minimalist jewellery + love an under £30 price tag = sold.

today i'm wearing...

Topshop white Jamie jeans

Zara quilted leather slides

Whistles Onslow mini bucket bag

Ray-Ban Clubmasters

I've been trying not to overindulge in the mid-season sales but I couldn't resist this soft, slouchy cardigan. Sometimes you need a few basic items in your wardrobe that are comfortable and cosy above all else and this absolutely fits that bill.

today i'm wearing...

Topshop inverted pleated zip skirt

Ray-Ban black Wayfarers

Whistles quilted leather jacket

3.1 Phillip Lim 31 minute clutch Marine

The transition from spring to summer can be a little tricky (especially when the weather can change drastically from one day to the next), but my number one failsafe formula is: bare legs plus layers on top. A cosy knit or a shoulder-robed jacket perfectly balances out bare calves (and if you're still cold, stick to closed-toe footwear for now as well).

today i love… beauty favourites

beautyfavouritesapril2015

This is far and away my favourite fragrance at the moment. The most beautiful perfume packaging I've ever seen aside, the scent itself is a wonderful sophisticated yet subtle floral melange, somehow suitable for any and every occasion. One I will be using every last drop of and repurchasing without a doubt.

I've said it before and i'll say it again: if there's one make-up item you should splash out on, it's lipstick. There's nothing worse than a cheap lipstick for flaking, drying out and generally looking unflattering. NARS lip colours are my absolute favourite. I have three shades of the semi-matte formula and this is my first of the sheers. It's the perfect nude, and believe me that is not easy to find. It's at once subtle yet noticeable, sheer but still gives a confident wash of colour, won't dry out your lips and will last (provided you apply with a lip brush).

I have to admit: it wasn't the gorgeously sophisticated, sweet floral scent of this candle that made me powerless to resist its charms. It was the divine silver holder with marble lid. I still kind of can't stop staring at it. It's just so darned beautiful.

I can never resist stopping off at & Other Stories when I'm near Regent Street, if only just to marvel at the best interior design I've ever seen in a store. As well as their own brand beauty products, they also stock Swedish brand L:A Bruket, which offers some of the most indulgent scents and most divine packaging around (two things I'm a sucker for). They don't hold much of it online at the moment, but if you're near the store, be sure to pop in and stock up. This shea butter is thick and smooth and really feels like it's addressing that dry winter skin we're reluctantly having to unveil at this time of year…

Picked this up in my annual pilgrimage to the Space NK Boxing Day sale (literally my favourite shopping experience of the year) and I love it. Once again, I love the packaging, but it's also a great all-round lip balm: not too flavoured, not too sticky, sinks in well and does the job.

I've had my eye on Australian beauty brand Grown Alchemist for quite some time (their Instagram is one my absolute favourite accounts right now). I love the amazing scent combinations and of course the beautiful minimalist tubes. Last week I finally gave in when I saw that FeelUnique were offering this hand cream for free with purchases of £35 or over on Grown Alchemist. I snapped up the amazing hand wash & lotion set and got this absolute gem for free. It's the Holy Grail of hand creams: gorgeous soft consistency which absorbs like a dream, amazing scent and looks divine.

Another Space NK sale find: I got this in a gift set alongside the cleanser (contender for my number one all-time beauty favourite, FYI). I've never been that sold on eye creams (do they really do anything?) but what can I say: this one looks gorgeous, feels soft as satin on your skin and makes me feel like I'm doing something to fight the inevitable onward march of time. That's got to be worth the price, right?

today i love… the monday wish list

1. BC x Modern Legacy Modern coat / $289.95 AUD (approx. £195)
I love Australian fashion blog Modern Legacy for its perpetrator Kaitlyn's flawlessly minimalist style, and now she's created a clothing line which perfectly reflects her to-die-for clean aesthetic. This coat is my favourite piece, and knowing our spring weather I'd probably be able to get a good couple of months' usage out of it yet.

Topshop's make-up line is definitely one of the best budget ranges out there, and certainly offers the best sleek packaging for the price. I used to steer firmly clear of cream eyeshadow formulae due to creasing, but since discovering Urban Decay's eye primer they're back on my radar. I love the look of this subtle colour.

You know I love my Diptyque, and when I popped into Space NK over the weekend I took the chance to sample this new fragrance. It's wonderfully unique, so much so that I can't hope to describe it, suffice it to say that it's floral but not in an obviously girly way. I love it.

Love the perfect balance between simplicity and elegance that this (incredibly good value) top strikes. It looks like nothing special from the front but gives way to delicate straps and sheer chiffon in the back. Summer evening perfection.

There's been a lot of hype around new brand Finery, which has launched an impressive campaign with comfortable price points around the Reiss/Whistles mark. I have to say I'm not bowled over by the current collection (too much colour and not enough minimalism for me), but I do love this beauteous grey backpack.

I'm discovering it's quite difficult to find coasters that are suitably minimalist for my interiors tastes. I'm ideally looking for something quartz or ceramic but these suitably non-girly slate versions have caught my eye in the meantime.

Friday 3 April 2015

today i'm wearing...

H&M grey cashmere jumper

Whistles Tyler boyfriend jeans

Zara black court shoes

Whistles Onslow mini nude bucket bag

H&M leather gilet

As spring tentatively approaches, I'm slowly transitioning away from heavy coats into the lighter jackets section of my outerwear wardrobe. With a sleeveless gilet such as this you either need really warm weather and bare arms or, as in the current climate, a super cosy knit underneath.
