Hola! I'm back from an amazing two weeks in Cuba full of sun, fun and literally hundreds of mojitos. Here are some snapshots from my holiday including a few of my outfits. I love getting the chance to wear some of my most summery clothes which rarely get an outing in our English weather. And it's always a welcome change not to have to wear a jacket and tights the whole time. By the way I would really recommend visiting Cuba: beautiful place, friendly people and stunning beaches.

today i'm wearing...

Whistles black suede courts

Zara black wrap dress

ASOS pearl earrings

3.1 Phillip Lim 31 minute clutch Marine

Whistles quilted leather jacket

Took my lovely new clutch out for a spin a few days ago. Kind of obsessed with the silky blue leather and the fact that I can fit all my essentials in it without it looking too bulky. Not going to lie: to me it's pretty much the holy grail to find a clutch that fits a bottle of water in. It's a bonus that it looks so damn good too.

today i'm wearing...

& Other Stories black scuba top

Ray-Ban black Wayfarers

3.1 Phillip Lim 31 hour bag

Zara blue skinny jeans

Hello from (hopefully sunny) Cuba! OK, so I wrote this before I left, but right now I am doing nothing but working on my tan (factor 40 is on, don't worry) and drinking lots of rum. Wore this outfit last week and it made me realise I don't wear these beautiful heels nearly enough. You wouldn't believe how easy they are to walk in, too. Definitely a great sale bargain for me.

Added orange lipstick to this look to head to the Topshop/rewardStyle event on Thursday night, where I was treated to a lovely evening of cocktails, sushi and an exclusive look at the high summer collections, talked through by their lovely design manager Lizzie Dawson. Appropriately I wore a lovely nude Topshop satin top which I picked up on a whim the other day and am really rather loving right now. Thanks to Topshop and rewardStyle for a lovely evening!

PS, I'm off to Cuba tomorrow morning so posts will be a little less frequent for the two weeks I'm away. But rest assured that I have scheduled some posts to keep you busy in the meantime. See you on 28th!

today i bought… 3.1 phillip lim 31 minute clutch

3.1 phillip lim 31 minute clutch marine

I know, I know… More Phillip Lim. But what can I say? The man knows how to design a bag. I think if I had to pick my one all-time favourite designer it would have to be Lim. Just such a fan of his collections. What I love about his bags in particular is that they're not shouty or monogrammed, but they still stand out. Take this beautiful clutch: it's really just a simple leather pouch but it's the details that make it so perfect. The deep navy colour, the silky leather, the heavy silver zip, the unlined interior, the curved shape… I could go on. My-Wardrobe are really succeeding in getting a lot of money out of me these days, thanks mainly to their incredible loyalty scheme which gives me 20% off on two days of my choice per season, a £25 gift voucher every now and then plus great customer service. Oh, and they are currently offering a free gift with all 3.1 Phillip Lim bags (my cardholder has been a little delayed but I'm excitedly awaiting its arrival). It's all I can do not to order the whole collection, to be honest…

today i want… zara tropical bikini

zara tropical bikini

The last-minute pre-holiday bikini hunt continues… Right now I'm lusting after this Zara beauty: perfectly, Caribbean-appropriately bright and sunny in appearance. Totally unlike my on-duty colour palette of mostly black, white and grey, but all the better for it. However, not available in my local store and I'm really not willing to pay £10 for express delivery, no matter how pretty that tropical print is. Maybe this one will have to wait for my next holiday…

today i love… the monday wish list

I am totally obsessed with marble right now, and cracked white leather happens to look an awful lot like it. I love this boxy biker and think it would look just perfect with a simple black dress and some mules (see number 4)...

One week until I head to Cuba (whoop) so I'm of course on the lookout for a last minute bikini purchase. I've been scouring the shops for a while now but nothing's been catching my eye (except the H&M scalloped beauty which I totally missed out on. Grr). But this simple one from COS might just tempt me to part with my cash. I love its clean lines and of course the fact that it's navy (my favourite colour).

I posted this watch in a "today I'd love to wear" the other day and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. Truth be told I've been thinking about investing in a watch for quite a while and this is the number one contender right now. The downside is the price, but cost per wear it's got to be a good investment, right? I think I may just succeed in talking myself into this one.

Mules… What can I say? I thought they'd be a flash in the pan trend but I am still craving every pair I see. As usual Whistles have pulled it out of the bag. I love the greyish white colour of these and the satisfying chunky wooden sole. A key accessory for summer if ever I saw one.

Lilac has definitely overtaken pink in my good books of late. And shirt dresses are surely a must-win easy option for daytime dressing once the temperature heats up. The fact that it's silk puts me off a little (so not easy to clean), but then again when have I ever let practicality get in the way of fashion?

I've been hotly anticipating Proenza Schouler's collection for MAC for a while and this week it finally dropped. Unfortunately though it's exclusive to Selfridges, ergo not that easy for me to get hold of since I'm outside of London and most of it's sold out online. What I really want to get my hands on is the orange lipstick, but for now I might have to go for this nail varnish instead: the perfect shade of nude.

today i bought… h&m pleated neoprene skirt

hm pleated neoprene skirt

H&M pleated neoprene skirt /

I've been trying to buy a black neoprene skirt for quite some time now, but I keep changing my mind. I buy one, I try it on, I take it back, and so the cycle continues. There's something about skirts in general with me: unless they're leather I inevitably find them too girly. But neoprene seems like a good alternative: sporty and really not too feminine. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen that I bought a neoprene skirt from Whistles recently, but I just couldn't deal with the "flippiness" of it (definitely not a word, but you know what I mean). Then the other day when I was in H&M I spotted this beauty in the trend section. Now don't get me wrong: I love it. I gravitated straight towards it and scoured two branches for my size. But this time the problem isn't that it's too girly, rather that it's a little bit too "out there". I mean, it is not a skirt for a shrinking violet. It's a skirt that announces its presence with a shout rather than a whisper. And although I definitely don't think of myself as being afraid to wear something that I like, I have to admit wearing a skirt that's as "crazy" as this makes me feel a little apprehensive, especially since I don't work in fashion anymore (rather the not-so-used-to-crazy-skirts-world of IT). So what do you think? Wear something that's totally out of my comfort zone? Keep it but only bring it out at weekends? Or return it and let the search continue? Maybe I should just stick to jeans after all…

today i'm wearing...

Topshop Boutique black ponyskin skirt

H&M leopard jacket

& Other Stories black scuba top

Dogeared silver Faith ring

Zara zip ankle boots

Took my little sister to witness the delights of & Other Stories the other day. Man, I love that place. It looks like my ideal home and is full to the brim with my ideal clothes and beauty products. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen what I scooped up from the beauty section, but I also took home this lovely black scuba top. I love how it's utterly simple but stands out just that little bit due to the longer front section. Minimalist with a twist: exactly what & Other Stories does best and exactly why I love it so much.
