today i'm wearing...

Michael Michael Kors leather leggings

Zara zip leather boots

Topshop grey cardigan

3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli burgundy medium

This cardigan is my absolute favourite item for cosy Fridays. Of course I like to add a little bit of fierceness via some leather and zips, too.

today i love… the monday wish list

As you'll know from my excited Instagrams, I was lucky enough to attend the Whistles S/S'15 show at LFW last week. I've had my eye on the Portland backpack for months and months, and this nude version, which is one of two exclusive bags featured in the show and directly available to buy, is nothing short of a beaut.

I am powerless before a navy jumper. Add a little bit of fluff and a perfect oversized but not over-chunky fit and I am 100% sold.

Again if you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen that the key street style trend we picked out when shooting for the Telegraph was culottes. As soon as we noticed them we couldn't stop spotting them on absolutely everyone. And being the gullible fashion victim that I am, I obviously now need a pair. We saw a lovely girl wearing this Zara jumpsuit and I immediately knew I had to look it up. It's the best of both worlds, because at first glance it looks like a beautiful, if a little mundane, dress. But it's actually culottes! Genius.

Love NARS. Love Phillip Lim. Love this beautiful metallic smoky bluish shade.

Could these be the perfect loafers? Satisfyingly chunky and manly (and croc effect!) and just crying out for a really good trouser and a don't-care stance.

Again while shooting street style for the Telegraph we photographed a girl outside the Topshop Unique show wearing this beautiful sleek grey skirt, and I couldn't believe it when she said she was wearing Topshop. Trust me, in real life this baby looks way above its high street station and £34 price tag. I'd team it with a matching grey long-sleeve top like she did.

today i'm wearing...

Topshop Boutique burgundy knit

Zara black court shoes

Alexander Wang Prisma tote

Knitwear and bare legs is one of my all-time favourite combinations, and there's only a very small window in the year when the weather is conducive to it (read: September). That said, we're having more of an Indian summer at the moment, so needless to say I was a little bit toasty in this knit by the afternoon. I love making the most of tight-less weather, though, and then throwing on something cosy when the autumn evenings draw in.

today i want… & other stories scented candles

And Other Stories scented candles

If you happen to be an avid reader of my blog (a girl can dream that there are a few of you, right?) then you'll know two things about me: 1) I'm obsessed with scented candles. I mean, seriously, ain't no problem a scented candle can't fix, if you ask me. 2) & Other Stories is quite possibly my favourite high street store (OK, tied with Whistles). It is certainly the store that looks the most like my ideal home. So the news this week that & Other Stories have launched their own range of scented candles fills me with pure unadulterated joy. There are four in the collection, each inspired by a place in either Paris or Stockholm (the two cities where & Other Stories has ateliers). From Paris choose from 2ème Arondissement, scented with rose, violet and birch wood, or La Cour Jardin, with notes of cardamom, orange blossom and lotus flower. Meanwhile Stockholm's scents are Studion, a blend of bergamot, fig and coconut, and 7:e våningen, with pomegranate, raspberry and cedar wood. Can you guess which two are already on their way to me?

today i'm wearing...

Alexander Wang lizard Prisma tote2

Sorry for the tired look on my face: day 4 of LFW was a bit of a struggle today. I've been shooting street style for the Telegraph the last two days and our photographer very kindly took a shot of me too. Keep an eye out for our street style gallery in the paper on Wednesday and hopefully online soon as well. That's LFW done for me - exhausting but brilliant as always. As ever a million thanks to the lovely Telegraph team for letting me help out!

Whistles Kumiko faux fur coat

What I wore to day 1 of LFW yesterday. And yes, I was pretty boiling, but oh my gosh, I'm so in love with this coat. I just couldn't not wear it. It is soft and huge and navy and beautiful. Whistles, you've done it again. I actually got the opportunity to go to Whistles' S/S'15 show today and I absolutely loved it. You know what a huge fan I am of the brand so I was so excited to see the new collection up close. It was, of course, amazing. Check out my Instagram for pictures and a video from the show.

today i love… london fashion week

London Fashion Week

Sorry for the lack of updates lately but they may well continue into next week, because it's time for the fashion circus to arrive: London Fashion Week is once again upon us. Like last season I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to help out the lovely Telegraph team with a little bit of showgoing and street style, so as well as following me on my social media (@annalouelliott on Instagram is probably your best bet), don't forget to follow the Telegraph fashion accounts too (@TeleFashion on Twitter) because I'll be posting a few things there as well. In the meantime, if you're not headed to Somerset House yourself, you can get a better seat than the rest of us without leaving the house. Each season more and more shows are live streamed so you don't even need to get dressed up: just click here. Look out for me at JJS Lee and Eudon Choi tomorrow!

Monday 8 September 2014

today i love… the monday wish list

I'm really loving midi skirts at the moment; the length definitely feels fresh and they're perfect for this transitional time of year. No big flared girly ones, though: keep things sleek and simple in a neoprene column skirt like this Reiss beauty.

I'm still not over mules, but now I'm loving a closed toe for an autumnal update on the style. These Whistles ones are perfect. If it weren't for the price I would already be prancing around in these babies.

If I didn't already have the perfect shearling jacket (from Whistles), I would be snapping this one up pronto. I love the neat cropped length, the chunky silver zips and just the general shearling amazingness.

H&M's Studio collection has just landed and half of it has sold out already (sadly I was too slow for the amazing outerwear). This mesh bustier is still available though and would look ideal with a high-waisted skirt while the weather still allows.

I'm definitely in the market for a new perfume at the moment, and Tom Ford's are surely the crème de la crème. Velvet Orchid is touted as a more feminine version of Black Orchid, laced with citrus, petals, honey and rum. Yes please.

I've been searching for the perfect ear cuff for months and months, and so far have only been impressed by Ryan Storer's (not cheap) versions. Finally the high street has offered up a viable alternative in this Zara pearl beauty. It's as good as mine already.

Alexander Wang Prisma tote

Topshop black Jamie jeans

Disclaimer: you might not be seeing any interesting outfits from me for a few days as I'm saving all of my clothes for fashion week. That said, I do think any look is immediately made better by these pool slides. So pleased I snapped them up in the sale.

today i bought… h&m crêpe dress

hm fashion weeks crepe dress

With London Fashion Week just around the corner, I'm starting to panic about what to wear = I'm starting to panic buy. There's a fine line between buying loads of new things and bankrupting yourself, and feeling like you're just re-wearing everything you already own and not really creating any new looks. My strategy this time around is going to be to buy one key designer piece (not quite sure which yet) and then a couple of cheap high street items. This H&M dress is one of the latter, and cheap it certainly is. Seems apt that it's from the brand's "fashion weeks" collection, too. I love the mesh panel and the soft crêpe fabric, plus the modest knee length makes it daytime appropriate. Not quite sure what I'll be teaming it with, but I've got another week of panic to go yet…
