Happy Easter! Gave my new Zara heels their first outing last night. I have a love/hate relationship with court shoes because it's so difficult to find a pair that fit perfectly and I've had to get rid of several beloved beauties that just weren't right. But when you do find that perfect pair, they're the Holy Grail of footwear. I'm happy to say these babies fall into that category. Oh, and totally obsessed with this holographic clutch, too.

Just a simple look today but wanted to test drive the souvenir t-shirt I picked up on Bondi Beach, if only to remind myself that sunshine does actually exist...

Markus Lupfer for Whistles hot water bottle cover /

As I said on my Instagram yesterday, I have a theory that it may be physically impossible to leave Whistles empty handed. As soon as I walk in I fall in love with everything and it takes me about an hour to make my way around the shop, wistfully staring at every piece as I go. So I'm actually quite impressed with the fact that I managed to leave yesterday with only this cute little hot water bottle cover, reduced from £45 to £10. I posted about the Markus Lupfer for Whistles collection a while ago; I had my eye on a few pieces, including the pyjamas and beanie hat emblazoned with the slogan "Brrr", but it was this adorable cover that proved just too good to resist. I don't know about you but I'm a big fan of a cosy hot water bottle on a cold winter's night, and given that this seems to be the longest winter ever, I feel entirely justified in this purchase. Most of the Markus Lupfer collection is sold out online but you can still snap up the slogan scarf for a mere £10 here.

today i'm wearing...

ASOS coat /
Topshop jumper /
Zara jeans /

Can't get enough of these white jeans at the moment (I even wore them, perhaps unadvisably, to walk around the Blue Mountains near Sydney). Plus if I'm ever having trouble deciding what to wear I often fall back on the failsafe combination of black, white and grey with a little rose gold jewellery.

today i love... tresemmé platinum strength

When your hair is long, thick and dyed, like mine is, it can be hard to keep it in good condition at the best of times. But after three weeks of sun and sea in Australia, it's safe to say my ends were looking pretty straw-like. So when I was sent the new TRESemmé Platinum Strength range to try just after I got back, it was kind of perfect timing. And I just had to share this with you because I was seriously impressed. I've never seen such a transformation in my hair after just one use of the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner: it went from straw to silk just like that. I usually use a de-frizz shampoo so I was worried that swapping it for the TRESemmé one would leave my hair frizzy, but it's never been smoother. I haven't even tried the deep conditioning treatment yet as I haven't needed to, but if my hair's subjected to lots of heat treatment or sunshine again (I wish!) then I think it will be the perfect pick-me-up. The little treatment shot will also be ideal to take on my next holiday to stop the straw effect in its tracks. In other hair news, I've also found the most amazing hairdryer (after I borrowed it from my sister), the Philips 2300W SalonDry Pro. Usually my hair takes about 15-20 minutes to blowdry (there's a lot of it) but this baby gets it done in 5. And if you're as bad at getting up in the mornings as I am, you'll agree that's pretty much a godsend.

today i love... & other stories

Pictures / Stories.com

In case you haven't heard of & other stories, it's the newest offering from Swedish retail giant H&M and its first UK store opened on Regent Street earlier this month. It sits somewhere between H&M and its big sister COS, in that it's less cheap and cheerful than H&M but more trend-led and accessible than COS. The price points are somewhere in the middle, too, with jumpers around £40, dresses around £50 and shoes £60-£90. I was intrigued about the new brand, but it wasn't until I checked out the website today that I realised this is going to be one of my top shopping destinations from now on. As I scrolled through the "new in" section I literally fell in love with every piece. The soft leather oversized clutches in navy and nude; the lace and mesh bras; the holographic accessories; the sculptural jewellery; the industrial spike heel shoes... They even have their own beauty and make-up ranges, too. The downsides? So far there's only the one store in the UK and delivery will set you back £6. But it is free returns, so I think I'll just do a bulk order and send back what I don't want (which may well be nothing). To my bank balance: I apologise in advance. Shop & other stories here.

today i want... zara white wrap skort

Zara wrap mini skort / £25.99

I hate the word skort, but it's fair to say that that's what this is (looks like a skirt from the front but is actually a pair of shorts). Usually I steer away from gimmicky garments, but it was love at first sight with this beauty. The only problem is that in this country you can't often wear skirts without tights, and this is not going to look good with black tights (nude tights = no way). And given that this is the longest winter in history (snow at the end of March? Seriously?) it doesn't look like bare legs are going to be on the agenda anytime soon. So I face that age old dilemma: beauty vs practicality. Do I keep it even though I won't get that many chances to wear it, or return it even though I love it? Or there's option three... get it in black instead. I wish I were back in Australia right now...

today i bought...

Lucas' papaw ointment /

Sometimes with very classic items - the perfect white shirt, a simple black blazer or, say, these beautiful court shoes - I find it harder to splash out on them than I would with a trend-led piece. I suppose my mind thinks I could just get another similar item another time. It's then only after they sell out that I realise how much I love them. These beautiful Zara shoes had been on my mind for weeks but it wasn't until they'd run out of my size in my local store that I knew I needed them in my life. Luckily they still had them online so I ordered them right before I left for Australia. Returning home to these beauties waiting for me certainly made swapping sunshine for freezing temperatures a little more bearable. Lucas' papaw ointment, in case you haven't heard of it, is a budget Aussie beauty classic which was number one on my list of things to pick up down under. I quickly became obsessed with it and returned with four tubes. Hands down the best lip balm I've ever tried.

today i love... interiors

Along with fashion, another passion of mine is interiors (there's little I love more than a trip to IKEA). Let me tell you, one of my biggest wishes in life is to have a beautifully decorated home (an amalgamation of everything on my Pinterest board would be perfect, please). Sadly due to limited space and budget I'm not there yet, but here are a few shots from my room at home. I love anything white, different textures (fur and perspex especially), candles aplenty, beautiful coffee table books and most importantly lots of flowers. Anyway, I'd love to know: do you guys have interiors boards, too, or blogs that you follow for home design inspiration? Let me know your recommendations!
