today i bought...

& Other Stories silk shirt / in navy here

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my excitement over new high street brand & Other Stories, so when I finally got around to visiting the Regent Street store on Monday, it's safe to say my expectations were pretty high. So the fact that I wasn't at all disappointed - rather, even more impressed than I thought I'd be - says it all. It's a beautiful store, interior designed to perfection, with industrial details like factory lamps and wooden tables on which the clothes and accessories are divided into groups, or "stories". So rather than shirts in one corner and knitwear in another, it's a futuristic collection here and a more classic set of items there. Clothes are displayed next to co-ordinating accessories, while in the centre of the store are shelves housing their in-house make-up and bath & body collections. Again, everything is expertly designed to fit in with the high end feel of the store, down to the beautiful packaging. Needless to say, I was won over. I wanted pretty much everything in the store, so I was quite impressed with my restraint when I emerged with only two items (this was in part due to my having just ordered something incredibly extravagant elsewhere, more on which on the blog soon). I'd been searching for the perfect white silk shirt for what felt like forever, so it was with a mixture of joy and relief that I snapped up this beauty. It's perfectly classic, with no quirky design details: just simple and timeless. The body lotion was a little extravagance which for £7 is totally justifiable. Unfortunately you can only see rather than smell it, but trust me when I say that its scent is even more divine than its packaging. In short: if you're near Regent Street anytime soon, you really must check out & Other Stories for yourself. Just don't blame me if you leave with a much lighter purse than you went in with.
