today i'm inspired by... elin kling

Can Elin Kling do no wrong? Love this shot of her on Stockholm Streetstyle. I'm still amazed by how her outfits are always utterly simple but perfectly executed. To me, that shows a lot more fashion know-how than throwing on the craziest pieces you can find.

today i'm inspired by... asos white

Pictures / asos.com

Love these shots of ASOS White's new collection. A little bit 90s and a little bit grunge, but a lot awesome. I really like all the contrasts: the super-soft jumper against the patent leather skirt; the sharp shirt with the ripped jeans. ASOS White is a bit like Topshop Boutique: designed to be a higher-priced, higher-quality collection of classic standout pieces. Highlights includes a lot of leather, smart tailoring and acid wash denim, finished with sharp accessories in bright colours.

today i want... zara ponyskin wedge boots

It's fair to say that Isabel Marant's influence over the high street is showing no signs of waning. In fact, if there's one trend high street shops have really picked up on this season, it's Marant's Western cowgirl. This comes as no surprise to me, given that it's a pretty easy trend to translate at a lower price point, and given the fact that whatever Marant says is going to be cool will definitely be cool. Of course, it's good news for those of us who can't afford the real deal. Zara and H&M in particular have been jumping on the Marant bandwagon, and these latest beauties from Zara are a case in point. Perfectly reminiscent of Marant's Lazio boots, they capture that Western luxe down to a tee, only for £600 less. Currently it says they're out of stock on Zara's site, which I'm not sure is quite right; I find it a little hard to believe that all sizes would sell out in 24 hours, but then again perhaps nobody can resist the charms of such a good Marant-alike. I have faith, however, that they'll be restocked before you can say "Yee-hah"...

Rimmel Kate Moss lasting finish lipstick in 01 /

Meet a late addition to my JW Anderson x Topshop collection. This white shirt fits large to size so I had to exchange it, but I'm very happy with it now: a true classic. Teamed it with my new blood red lipstick last night.

today i love... military coats

In the last couple of weeks it seems to have gone from summer to winter in the blink of an eye. And even though it was a bit of a shock to go from bare legs to scarves so quickly, I actually love this time of year. Cosy clothes, hot drinks and awesome TV are definitely right up my street. Plus, it means that it's time to invest in a good winter coat. And if there's one thing I love, it's a good winter coat. Military styles are pretty much a perennial favourite of mine, but at the moment I'm feeling more partial to them than ever, thanks in part to Topshop Unique's A/W'12 collection. There's just something about shrugging on a huge, oversized officer's coat in a rich, autumnal shade that makes you feel properly cosy. Above I've picked my favourite four on the high street. They're not the cheapest of items, but I think a good warm coat is definitely something worth investing in, and these beauties will work hard for their money. Number 1 in particular may just be making its way into my wardrobe very soon.

today i want... topshop embroidered leather bomber

Current obsession: this leather bomber with floral embroidered pattern across the shoulders. Totally reminiscent of this Isabel Marant beauty. Definitely feels a little out of my fashion comfort zone, but that's by no means a bad thing. I can envisage it paired with a grey marl tee and leather trousers, or slung on over a little dress in the evening. Perfect for this in-between weather, when it's not quite cold enough for coats but you still need a little something to keep you warm.

today i bought...

I was determined not to miss out on the fantastic JW Anderson for Topshop collection when it landed last Friday, so I ordered rather a lot of it. As usual, however, there were only a couple of keepers (much to my bank balance's relief). I'm very happy with my two winners though: this beautiful bat jumper was the first thing I zeroed in on when I saw the lookbook and I'm happy to say it doesn't disappoint in the flesh. Plus I can never resist a super-cute notebook. I almost went for the square-print jeans, but they were really see-through, which isn't ideal, plus the white shirt was too big (be warned: the jumpers are sized quite small whereas the shirt is the opposite). I would have loved to have added a tortoise-print iPhone case to my repertoire, but alas my 3GS prevented me. I did however add this beautiful super soft navy tee to my online basket; I can never resist a luxe basic and when it comes to such items, Topshop Boutique is second to none.
