today i love... zara leather trousers

A few of you have asked for my verdict on the Zara leather trousers so here it is... I've been taking quite a while to make up my mind about whether I'm going to keep them, but I've finally decided to take the plunge. The reason I've been deliberating so much is a) the price and b) the fact that they're not a super-skinny fit. I don't know about you but I generally prefer my jeans and trousers to be as skinny as possible; I just think it's the most flattering cut. These leather trousers, while fitting perfectly on the top half (which is definitely important), have quite a bit of extra fabric around the knees and calves, meaning of course that they give easily when you bend your legs and are therefore super comfortable, but also meaning they're not quite that close cut that I'm accustomed to.

But I've decided to give them a chance because high street leather trousers of this quality don't come around often (believe me: I've spent the best part of two years searching). They are buttery soft and very flattering, plus the ankles have a raw finish which is a really nice, high-quality touch. Just a word of warning though: I ordered two pairs to check the fit and the leather actually didn't seem quite as high quality on the second pair, so I'd advise ordering a couple or going in store to try them on if you can. It's a bit of a gamble for the money, but I'm hoping it will pay off and that I'll wear them as much as I have worn my faux Topshop version over the last couple of years. I certainly feel good in them and for me, that's always the bottom line.

  1. Hey! I've been wondering about these for a while too. The photo on the website has kind of put me off because of the fit around the crotch area, you know, where there's a bit too much leather so there is a fold on either side of the crotch? How have you found yours in that area? (Gosh this sounds so odd doesn't it, but I hope you know what I mean!)

    1. Haha, I think it fits fine there! I would definitely suggest ordering a couple of pairs to try on though :) Good luck!

    2. Could you please tell me whether they run big, small or true to size? I am just concerned as leather tends to give so am not sure whether to order s or xs as I am not near a store. Thanks

    3. I think they run pretty true to size - I am usually a Small in Zara and mine are a Small. They fit pretty snugly so I'm hoping they'll still be alright even if they give a little. Good luck!
